The West

The Western part of Madagascar is a region where nature has pronounced itself in the most spectacular way.

The West of the Red Island is impressive. This is the place where you will find the largest concentration of Baobabs in the world. Each sunrise or sunset at the world famous  « Baobab Alley »  (Allée des Baobabs) becomes a romantic and unforgettable moment offering breathtaking pictures.

The main tourist attraction of the West is the Tsingy de Bemaraha Strict Nature Reserve, belonging to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Millions of sharp limestone karsts offer you the most astonishing landscapes.

A network of walking trails allows you to observe the typical fauna and flora of this park.

A few comfortable hotels have recently been built in Morondava and the village of Bekopaka, near the park entrance. This means the West of Madagascar opened its doors to visitors asking more comfort.

To get a better idea of this surprising part of Madagascar, we invite you to have a look at our Photo gallery – The West.
